A Trip to the Park

Shenandoah National Park, that is….

The past month’s been hectic and busy

Normally I go to the park once a week

But not once since July 10th

Mary’s Rock Tunnel, Shenandoah NP

3-Exposure HDR (-3, -1, +1)

Nikon D800E, Nikkor 70-200 2.8 @ 70mm

Lightroom 4.1 Export to HDR Efex Pro 2

That’s as natural as I know how to do HDR

If you like Grunge, this one’s for you

Which, by comparison, doesn’t look bad at this greatly reduced resolution

Today was my kind of park day – cloudy & foggy (for 3 hours)

The boss gave me the day off, so off I went

I needed to get some D800E shots under my belt

Especially with my new Nikon 70-200 2.8

Although 70-200 is not ideal for my normal park work

Using a single lens all day is a good learning experience

Also gave the new IR converted D300 a workout

A real joy to work with

Back to portfolios tomorrow.
