Nik Collection v1.109 – New Update 12/15/13

Summary – Latest Nik Collection release is out. No new features, mainly bug fixes.

You should be seeing version 1.109 soon if it hasn’t already been downloaded to your computer via the Google automatic download.

If it hasn’t been downloaded & you’re in a hurry, go to the Nik Collection site and download it manually from there.

Here are some problems addressed in this release. Not everyone is affected by all (or even any) of these. YMMV.

  • Crash with Dfine 2 on Mac OS 10.6

  • Crash with 64 bit Dfine 2, Sharpener Pro 3, and Viveza 2 on Windows 8

  • UI issue that might have occurred in Aperture after using Plug-Ins

  • Black or white tile/squares when returning to Photoshop from Plug-Ins

  • Solid color tiles on the image within the Plug-In for Intel HD cards

  • GPU filtering artifacts happening on Mac OS 10.9 with Intel HD 2000/3000 cards

  • Photoshop crash in a specific situation using the brush tool

  • The preset preview will be shown at full retina resolution on supported systems

  • Various smaller retina graphic optimizations

  • Improved the click and drag experience when using a tablet

  • AEP: Vary button now also affects the levels and curves strength slider

  • AEP: History comparison for the initial state

  • HEP2: Crash that could happen when loading parallel metadata from images

  • SEP2: Fixed the functionality of the toning sliders

  • SEP2: Preview issue with grain strength depending on the preview scaling

  • SEP2: GPU filtering artifacts and which also improved filtering speed

  • Installer: Optimized detection of previous installation path on Mac

  • Installer: Windows installer bug fixes related to auto-update
